Did you know?
* A virus may be on your system for a great deal of time before triggering. This allows for the maximum damage to be done to your system because the virus will spread into various systems and programs without detection.
* In windows a virus can hide an any part of your memory and can hide itself by taking over portions of your system until it activates, or the virus can evolve to look and act differently from the original virus code.
* Worms are not like viruses in that they are designed to spread as fast as possible, this causes them to be detected quickly, but the shear volume of infection causes server and network crashes.
* Viruses may not destroy data, or cause system errors and are not directly harmful, but they may cause pornographic images to be displayed on your screen (which is not something you want your children or friends to see), or will eat up disk space or just slow down your computer.
* Viruses can and do steal and destroy personal data and if a virus is on your computer and is transmitted to a friend or relative do you want their important information destroyed?
* Without a strong anti-virus you could be responsible for the loss of family information or financial information.
* If the virus that is in your computer is coupled with spyware you could soon be a victim of identity theft.
* All a virus has to do to make your computer unusable is erase or alter part of your system 32 file, which in simple language, is the file that makes your computer run programs. I have seen various ways to create code to initiate this action. I will not spread this knowledge because unscrupulous people may take advantage, but if you look for it you will likely find a lot of the same information I have seen.
